The Magnum masterclass with Patrick Zachmann will comprise editing sessions, sequencing, portfolio reviews, group critiques and mentoring. He will also examine how formal considerations like composition, framing, focus and depth of field enhance or limit the effect of a photograph on the audience. Richard Kalvar will try to help each person get closer to his or her instincts, feelings and intentions, and become more sensitive and reactive to the world outside. Candidates will spend the five days alongside the photographer developing visual language, photographic identity, practical, technical and conceptual skills and the expertise required to compete in a changing marketplace.
